US Visa Interview

I’ve been so anxious about my US visa interview for weeks and it turned out to be okay! It was much simpler than I thought.

First, I had to queue up outside the embassy which is at Jalan Tun Razak, KL. I queued up a good 15 minutes, I think, wasn’t long. My appointment letter said 10am, so the sun wasn’t scorching hot above my head while waiting.

At the first stop they’ll ask for you passport and IC. They’ll keep your IC here. Then you’ll have to queue for the second stop, which is a small room at the entrance of the embassy.

At the second stop, some nice abang polis will ask you to empty your pockets and leave behind all your electronics. I told them I had no pockets and they laughed lolll and when they asked for my phone they said “phone pun takde??” then they lolllled. Then you’ll have to walk through a metal detector then leave the room to go to the embassy building.

Then queue up for the first counter, they’ll ask for passport and a photo of you with a white background.

Queue again, second counter, they’ll ask for passport and all 10 fingerprints.

Queue for the last time for the interview, they’ll ask for your passport and ask you some questions. The questions they asked me were much simpler than my parents had prepared me haha. The first was why I’m going there. Second, how long I’m going to be there. Third, who’s paying for my trip. Last, “Your visa is approved!” Yay alhamdulillah.

The interview was so simple that I thought there was another counter to go to and the abang there was like “balik” and I’m like “dah??” and he’s like “ye balik, ikut situ” and some aunty laughed at me lollll

Sekian wabillahitaufiq walhidayah assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
